Most people agree that the national health care system is in need of reform—what kind of reform, that's a different story. But whether it's McCain or Obama who wins in November, both candidates will have a difficult time getting their proposals through Congress. So what do we do in the meantime? Come get ready for the election by listening to our panel of experts talk about what can and is being done on the state/local level, what kind of reform is needed long-term, and finally how the two presidential proposals measure up. Featuring local physician Dan Bressler, Kamal Muilenberg from the Business Healthcare Connection, Richard Barrera of United Healthcare Workers, and Sara Steinhoffer, director of Health Sciences Community Relations and Public Affairs at UCSD.
Come and listen to the discussion, stay for the bands! For this event Party Politics is co-partnering with The Habitat (www.thehabitat.info/), a project recording studio and music venue in Golden Hill. We have three live bands lined up for your enjoyment: Calico Horse, Silver Summit, and Derek Papa. Out of courtesy to our speakers, please be sure to arrive on time.
This event is FREE, 21+ and BYOB. Attendance is limited.
